Welcome to One Off Ceramics!

One Off is a small-batch, handmade ceramics shop that celebrates the beauty of organic forms and earthy palettes. San Francisco-based potter Chi is a late starter - she took her first ever pottery class at age 30, fell deep into a rabbit hole and let the art take her on a wild ride. She likes to think that ceramics taught her as much about herself as it does about clay and pots: it is a rare endeavor where one could thrive from playing, failing, and honing one's intuition and flexibility.

 

Chi's approach to ceramics is a balance between playful and thoughtful. Her ceramics reference different elements in nature, with subtle throwing lines, glazes that compliment the clay bodies, silhouettes inspired by the world of botany and hues that reflect the changing seasons. Her works blend the functionality of contemporary homeware with the classic forms from her cultural heritage. 

Besides One Off and full-time employment, Chi works with local animal rescue groups to foster and help cats find their forever home. Her love for animals, especially cats, inspires original designs that bring joy and comfort to many. She looks forward to bringing this passion into her ceramic works.
