This saucer is made with humble reclaimed clay - an amalgamation of different clay types, recycled to be given a chance to become something. It is a mini bubble plate with a hollow, round rim. Despite the lack of any sharp corners on a bubble plate, it could be a kiln bomb if not well prepared for firings. Making bubble plates is a fun challenge for potters such as myself!
The size of the saucer is perfect as a coaster for your favorite mug, as a trinket dish for jewelry and keys, or as a condiment plate.
Unlike cement, jesmonite, or slipcast bubble plates which are solid, hand-thrown bubble plates have hollow rims and are therefore lighter.
